“To the voters of Spencer County: Thank you for your support! I am looking forward to representing you as your next County Attorney and working with our elected officials to ensure we have smart, efficient, and transparent government at the county level. It’s an absolute honor to be able to work for you in the place that has always been home.”
Corey’s ties to Spencer County date back five generations. Born and raised in Spencer County, he was the valedictorian of his class at Spencer County High School.
Corey attended the University of Louisville, graduating as a University Honors Scholar with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in Economics and History. Corey attended the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, where he was involved in the Student Bar Association, served on the school’s Honor Council, and helped re-establish the law school’s student chapter of The Federalist Society.
Corey’s involvement in his community has included volunteering for other political campaigns, leading a local civic organization, mentoring current and future law students, and serving at his church, Southeast Christian Church, for nearly fifteen years.
Prior to being elected County Attorney, Corey worked for several years in private practice representing clients in matters all across the Commonwealth. Corey’s practice included representing plaintiffs in an array of different causes of action; successfully defending clients in multi-million dollar civil litigation; successfully leading complex, multi-million dollar transactions; and drafting testamentary and other legal documents.
